The facilities at Gable Cross have been developed with the aim of providing both patient and client with an environment and atmosphere that will enhance the rehabilitation process. Many of the conditions treated will entail long term therapy and it is an important part of the process to provide a relaxed, peaceful environment to achieve good results.

So the building, originally a derelict barn, has been renovated to a very high standard with a warm and peaceful character.

Fundamental to the provision of rehabilitation is the Aqua Treadmill. There is a large (10x16 foot) pool which is useful for long term management and leisure swimming, but the treadmill is often key to the rehabilitation process. The process involves the vet and physiotherapist tailoring a programme of therapy around regular treadmilling in conjunction with massage, acupuncture and other modalities plus a home exercise programme to suit each individual case.
Far from being a daunting process, the majority of dogs find treadmilling great fun and after an initial familiarisation visit are quite happy to walk in and out and exercise as necessary.
